Bangladesh Delta Plan’s midterm review is underway. The review will be executed in two phases – from 18th September to 28th September and 10th October 2015 to 19th October 2015. Throughout the review, BDP staff and reviewers will meet with donor organizations and Bangladesh government agencies.
To increase transparency of our assessment, here is some information detailing our reviewers and their qualifications.
Mr. Jos van Alphen:
Jos is currently the senior advisor of strategy development and knowledge management at Deltacomissaris – the Dutch national long-term programme for flood risk management and fresh water supply. He earned his MSc in Physical Geography from Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
Mr. Tom van der Wekken:
Tom is the project manager at the Rijkswaterstaat Center for Water Management. He received his MSc in Civil Engineering from TU Delft University in the Netherlands.
Mrs. Lia Sieghart:
Lia is the Program Leader and Lead Climate Change Specialist at the World Bank. Based in Dhaka, she coordinates the climate change program in Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan and is working closely with teams across Global Practices. She holds a PhD and an MSc from the University of Salzburg (Austria) in cooperation with the University of Queensland (Australia) in Environmental Sciences.
Mrs. Umme Kulsum Navera:
Professor at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Umme’s field of specialty are: Easturine and & Coastal Hydraulics, Mathematical Modeling, Open Channel Hydraulics, and Fluid Mechanics. She earned her Ph.D in Coastal Engineering from the University of Wales.
Mr. Javed Bin Karim:
Javid is the a Senior Adviser of the 2030 Water Resources Group for the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group. He focuses largely of Private Sector Engagement for Greater Dhaka Watershed Restoration. He received his MBA from Southeast University, Bangladesh.
Now a freelance consultant, Mukhlesuzzaman was previously the Director General at Bangladesh Water Development Board.Leave a reply →
